Jett didn’t understand. He just wanted to run away. Why was this happening. How could this even happen. Two weeks without seeing his friends? A worse way to look at it was two weeks with Norman Large!
“I don’t want to do it with Norman.” Jett protested, “He is nasty, can someone else do it. I’ll do it with someone else!”

"Let go of him." Jade told Doctor Long sternly, and watched him release Jett from his grasp. Looking Jett in the eye, Jade sighed softly, "Do it with me Jett. I can help you. It won't be two weeks, it will be four weeks though..." She whispered, and bit her lip gently. She knew she could bring Jett back to health, she had helped Helen, and people before her, people worse off than Jett.

Jett threw his arms around Jade and pulled himself in tight to her. He hid his face in her clothes, and in a whisper, “With you. Four weeks.” He said simply. Jett had trained with Evelyn Song. Back then he had earned his black belt, broke his nose, cracked two fingers, but gained half a stone in solid muscle.
“I’m sorry. Please don’t cry any more. I’ll be good, real good. I’m sorry.” Jett didn’t know he was crying until felt the tears cold against his skin as he lifted his head to look up at Jade.

"Four weeks. If you don't get your act together by the end it will be another four." Jade told him simply, wiping her eyes gently, and started to calm down. "Come on...let's go." She added quietly before looking at Doctor Long, "Cancel everything you have arranged for Jett....I can put him back on track." She told him sternly, glaring at him with a slightly evil smirk. When she saw the doctor rush to cancel everything, she smiled down at Jett. "Let's go."

Jett took Jade hand and looked up at her. “Can we put it off until tomorrow?” Jett asked with adorable eyes. “Let’s go out for dinner today, Let’s dress up and go somewhere really posh. You and me. Amanda will look after Aaron and Rebbecca and we can have a night off.”

"I don't think I can leave the babies yet sweetie." Jade sighed, as she gave Jett's hand a gentle squeeze, "It's too soon to leave them. How about I cook us some dinner? Whatever you like, I'll cook it. I've never cooked for you before." She smiled brightly at the thought of cooking someone a meal. Jade was a decent cook, but no body knew because she never got a chance to show anyone, this seemed like a great opportunity.

Jett had to have what looked like plastic body armour to protect his ribs made for him. It was uncomfortable, and restrictive. He felt really miserable as Dan had dished out some damage down south too, the bastard, so seventy-two hours of observation was going to be an issue for him.
Jett slept for the best part of a day. He was heavily strapped up while some adjustments were made to his ‘armour’. The ward was silent, and boring for a kid, Jett managed to text Lauren, wondering if she could keep him company.

Lauren was sitting in her room, drawing a picture of the sunset. She sighed before jumping as her phone vibrated in her pocket, signaling a text. She flipped open her phone and smiled as it was from Jett;
Heyy. Care to come down? I'm in the med centre. -J
Lauren let out a small gasp, wondering what had happened to him. She slipped off her sweatpants and old tee and threw on her skinny jeans, ballet flats and her CHERUB tee. Quickly, she texted him back, and ran out the door to the med center.

"Hey there.." she said as she stepped into Jett's room. "What happened..?" she asked, shocked to see him all bundled up. Lauren bit her lip in order not to cry - what would you do if the one you loved is all wrapped up in the med center?

Jett smiled, “I started to do ballet classes, and well, the girls got rough with me!” Jett lied with his trademark smirk. Jett tried to sit up a bit more, his face screwed up with pain. “Six girls all piled on me, crushing me with there thighs!”

Lauren was skeptical. "I thought you were too manly to be in a ballet class? And if they were in balle they'd be less than 100 pounds each." she said, sitting on the edge of the bed closer to Jett. "So what really did happen?" she said, looking at him sweetly. "Tell me the truth. All of it." she added. Jett shook his head no. Lauren leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. "Now will you?"

Lauren's smile dropped. "Oh. I'm guessing more than a chat then, eh?" she said softly. She bit her lip. An 11 year old up against Dan? Poor thing.. "I'm sorryy..That looks like it hurt.." she added, leaning closer towards Jett.

Jett nodded, “Yeah well, it don’t hurt when you’re knocked out!” Jett joked. “I’ll get him back, just need to get fixed first. I’m hurting like hell right now though, see if there is a nurse around would you?”

Lauren nodded. "Ok. Want anything?" she said, kissing him on the forehead softly before standing up. "I'll go find a nurse for you." she said before walking out. "I've got my cell. Call or text me if I don't come back in a few." she added, smiling.

The medical centre was hardly a relaxing place to recover. Jett was getting increasingly annoyed with the constant whirring and beeping of machines. His chest was so strapped up Jett could hardly move. On the other hand, movement of any sort seemed to rip every nerve ending in his body, or so it felt.
Jett was baking hot, but he didn’t dare move from under the bed sheets with the somewhat ‘specialised’ underwear he discovered the nurse had put him in! “I just want to get out of here” Jett sighed, but regretted the sudden breath take, “Mum will kill me, the she will murder Dan with a spoon!”

Lauren walked back into the room, smiling. She fad found a nurse, Susan, who agreed to help Jett. "Thanks Susan, you know what to do." she said as she motioned her onward towards him and sat down at the end of his bed. "Found you a nurse Jett. Her name's Susan. She knows what she's doing." Lauren said, smiling. "Oh, and I bought you a soda...But I drank it on the way here. Sorry!" she added, giggling as she held up the empty soda can.
Susan walked over to Jett. "Time to change your diaper..." she mumbled too loudly. Jett looked mortified.
Lauren started to giggle. "You didn't mention you were wearing a diaper!" she laughed. Suddenly, she stopped and bit her lip, trying to mask the fit of giggles.

Jett simply died! He could not believe the nurse had actually announced that. He buried his head under the sheet despite the pain of moving, his embarrassment hurt more.
Letting the bed sheet fall from his bright red face, Jett scowled at Susan and then at Lauren. Lauren’s laugh was infectious, at least it was for Jett and he soon found himself bobbing as he laughed at himself.
“Well I’m hardly going to shout it out am I?” Jett shot back at Lauren. “I bet you want to know it’s green too!?” Jett felt better just for seeing Lauren, and he was seriously thinking that enough time had past to let them get back together, but he would have to talk to Amanda one last time first.
“So what, you going to watch this happen?” Jett asked, dismissing Lauren with a smirk.

Lauren blinked. "Now that you said that, no." she said, her face bright red, shaking her head in disgust. "Boys are icky!" she giggled as she smiled. "I'll be right back. I'll go get a few sodas or something." Lauren added before walking out of the room to the soda machine. She clicked the buttons, and picked up 2 cans. She walked over to the door but just waited for Susan to finish changing Jett's diaper.

Jett casually shook his head at Lauren as she left the room, trying to cover up the fact he had never been so embarrassed in his life! Jett draped his left arm, the less painful of the two, across his eyes to hide himself from the rest of the world while Susan set to work. Three minuets felt like three years, and by the end, Jett was ready to bawl out his embarrassment! It was then Jett decided he didn’t care, and that it wasn’t his fault. Besides, Lauren was cool with stuff like that, and Jett half knew she wouldn’t push any joke too far. “See you at eight, tonight then Susan?” Jett asked like it was a date he had arranged with her as she walked away.

As soon as Susan stepped out of the room, Lauren walked in. "How was it?" she asked him, sitting right next to him on the edge of his bed. She handed Jett his soda and placed hers on the night stand. "But yikes how long are you stuck like this? Better not be forever..." she said, trailing off at forever. Last time she used that word, the two of them were on the beach..

Jett sighed, “I don’t know. I haven’t been told anything” Jett looked depressed. He was a proud boy, and this was a bit hard going for his pride to swallow. Jett tried to open his soda can, but it just wasn’t going to happen. The moment he tried to pull the tap, his side of broken ribs burned. Jett flopped his head back on the pillow, biting his lip in angry frustration. “I’m scared, I don’t want t be like this!” Jett confessed in a whisper. Jett pulled the bed sheet back over himself with his better left arm. He wanted to pull Lauren into a hug, but thought she would be freaked out with his current dress code.

Lauren stroked Jett's hair. "Shh, it'll be OK.." she whispered, smiling sweetly. "Want me to open it for you?" she added. Lauren stood up and opened the can, then quickly ran over to her purse to take out a color-changing straw. She skipped happily back to Jett and stuck the straw in his can. "It changes colors when you put it in something cold, so it goes from blue to purple!" she giggled, sitting back down.

Jett felt ridiculous, unable to do more than his baby brother or sister. He gave the can up to Lauren, but couldn’t help but smile at the colour changing straw she had added. Jett rested his arm that was holding the can on the bed sheets so it didn’t put any weight on his body. Having broken ribs was quite crippling.
Jett smiled at Lauren. She was so kind, and he had accepted that she wasn’t ad freaked out as he was about the whole diaper thing, and guessed it went without saying she really needed to keep this to them selves!
“I love you, Lauren.” Jett whispered as if it was a terrible secret. “I should have never let you go. Look what happened when I did!”
