Jett ran his hand through hi hair. He was sweating under the pressure. It was basic training all over again. Interrogation class, session four, good cop, bad cop, only without the good cop! “No? that’s all” Jett whispered.
Jocelyn sighed. "You disappoint me Jett. I think we both know that's clearly not all. I've had complaints about you concerning various other things, but I'm going to give you one last chance to come clean and admit them. Make things easier for yourself Jett. I can assure you if you don't admit them you will be punished twice as harshly."

Jett felt trapped. He would take Jocelyn up on her offer, but he was scared to admit something they didn’t know about! What if they knew about the smoking, but didn’t know about the drink. Was it as simple as a fifty-fifty? What about picking on the red-shirts, or his disrespectful attitude, I could be anything!
Jett looked Jocelyn in the eyes, his own begging her to stop! Almost dumbly Jett asked, “W-what one do you have in mind?”
"Well perhaps you'd better start with the one you feel is the most important, and work your way through the others. I have plenty of time to spare Jett. I'm sure I can manage to sort them all, even if Jade can't be there the whole time." Jocelyn said, with a small smile playing on her lips.

Jett wondered if there was a way out of this room with just the twenty laps now! “I don’t know, I guess missing lessons was the only one that stood out in my mind?” Jett replied, sticking to the subject that was already covered. The ball was back in Jocelyn’s court. Jett’s eyes were still asking for Lyn to let it slid this time.
"Jett...don't lie. Don't assume. Just let us get on with it. I'm sure Jocelyn has a lot of other things to deal with, as do I. So Jett, please tell Jo what else you have or have not done." Jade insisted, getting very annoyed with Jett's childish attitude towards the whole thing, "Your digging yourself a bigger hole than you're already in."
"I already know everything Jett, you can't hide anything from me. I've given you several opportunities and you've turned them down, so now I will lay down the facts so everyone knows. I have reports of you smoking, drinking, bullying red shirts, skipping training sessions, not to mention a constant disrespectful attitude towards your teachers and instructors." snapped Jocelyn finally losing it with Jett. "Now explain yourself."

(ooc- that is so harsh… you said everything. My teacher had a long, and I mean long list of crap against me. She picked one thing to tell my mum, and said if I don’t sort everything on the list, she would be on the phone.)

(ooc- yeah, but not one cherub had an angry mum in the same room! CHERUBs are tough but mums hit harder!)
Jett could have past out there and then, but he was afraid his mum would make sure he never woke up! He simply had no answer. He wondered so many things, primarily he wondered if Jocelyn actually had evidence of the things she came up with. She could be bluffing, after all, who doesn’t enjoy the occasional drink, have that sneaky puff behind the old science block, and thump that annoying little red-shirt that’s given you lip?
“I don’t remember doing that?” Jett offered, quickly adding, “And I stopped smoking!” having forgotten that his mum knew about that one already.
Jocelyn raised an eyebrow. "I'm glad to hear it. That's one less problem with have to deal with. The other's however, I have several reliable sources which all tell me similar things. Like you're drinking far much than you ought to at your age. Now CHERUB may turn a blind eye to some of the older agents occassionally, but you Jett, are 11, and are drinking much more than would be tolerable if you were 16." said Jocelyn bluntly.

Jett started to squirm a little in his chair. It seemed Jade was learning a little more about her son every day, but as of late, it wasn’t all that good! “I hardly drink anything!” Jett lied, “Most of it is for when I have people over?” Jett hoped he wasn’t given a medical. It was a bit shocking, he was a bit tubby round his middle, his stamina was below acceptable standards, and his combat skills were back to being sloppy. The worst part of a medical was the creepy way they could tell you exactly what you had eaten, drunk, and sometimes slept with.
All of this business was breaking Jade's heart, and she couldn't deal with it. "Jett stop lying, stop guessing what you're saying, just come out with the truth. If you tell us the truth now you'll come off lighter than you will if you don't." She told him simply, lifting Rebeca out of the pushchair when she started crying, and cradled her gently. Things were going to change in Jett's life, that much was obvious. But Jade was his mom now, and his attitude had best start changing, else she won't be a very mom after all.
"If that's the case Jett, then you won't object to having a routine medical, to check what sort of shape you're in." Jocelyn said smoothly, knowing only too well that a medical would reveal everything they needed to know about Jett's smoking and drinking habits. "If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about, do you?" she said surpressing a smile.

Jett thought the world was against him. He could pass, maybe…
“Yes Miss.” Jett replied to Jocelyn “I’ll report to the medical centre first thing tomorrow” Jett thought this sounded reasonable on paper, and hoped it wouldn’t be questioned, but it gave him just under sixteen hours to flush out his system.
"Oh I don't think so Jett. You see, if everything I've been told is true, I would say you're situation is pretty urgent. I'm certain we can manage to arrange a medical for you right now." she said bluntly. Her arms folded, leaning against her desk. "What do you think Jade?" Jocelyn asked, not taking her eyes off of the very guilty looking Jett.

Jett could not look rougher! His hair was matted, he looked tired, and fidgeted in his seat. He looked like a criminal! “Lyn…” He whimpered, bowing his head. He was about to put up an argument, but he knew it was futile. “…I’m sorry mum.” Jett added in a whisper.
"I think that's a good idea Jo." Jade nodded to Jocelyn's suggestion about going to the medical center right that moment. Looking at Jett, she sighed softly, and placed Rebeca back into the push chair before she walked over to him. Kneeling in front of him, she took his hands, and smiled at him reassuringly. "Hey. No matter what the results Jett. I'll always love you, okay? I'll always be here for you." She cooed softly. "But you've done some bad things, so you have to be punished....okay?"
Jo nodded and picked up her phone for the second time that meeting. "This is Jocelyn Smith, I've got an agent here who needs an urgent medical, preferably now. Can you arrange that for me? Great. Thanks." She put down the phone and looked at Jett. "They'll see you now Jett. You're to go straight to the medical centre. We'll meet again when you're through okay?" She turned to Jade and said, "I know you must be very busy, so I'll leave it up to you as to whether you come to that meeting." she smiled.

Jett took him mum’s hand in his. He only felt smaller for it. Jade told him she loved him, but Jett felt sick. “I’m sorry mummy…” he repeated as they walked to the medical centre. Lyn had arranged everything so fast. Jett didn’t have time to think. Usually he could wriggle his way out of trouble, but he needed that little bit of time to put a plan together. “Do we have to go right now?” Jett asked sheepishly. He knew that the bad stuff, like smoking, and drinking would show, however it would show a lot! Even worse, there were some secrets that even Lyn didn’t know about… some quite serious.
